Matt Black is a British DJ and visualist, one half of music duo Coldcut and one of the founders of Ninja Tune.
Black is widely regarded as one of the most innovative people in the sphere of audiovisual performance – his legendary AV tracks include ‘Timber’ by Coldcut and Hexstatic. He is recognised as a pioneer in the areas of sampling, DJing and audiovisual club art. Matt is one of the inventors of the vjamm software used in the early Coldcut live shows.
At Splice he will be introducing himself and his work and examine the evolution of today’s electronic music and art landscape. He will demonstrate the latest incarnation of Coldcut’s audio software ideas, the iOS and Android remix app Ninja Jamm and also some other AV/game/video synthesis works in progress.
